Maui Lane Closures for February 2 to 8

The state Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork in the Keopuka area of the Hana Highway this week.

The road maintenance will result in a single lane closure in the westbound direction between mile post 10 near the Garden of Eden, and milepost 16 near the Keanae Peninsula Road.

The roadwork takes place Monday through Friday this week from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.

The DOT also will continue work to repair ocean erosion damage on the Honoapiilani Highway in Lahaina.

The work is continuous and affects the eastbound (Kihei-bound) lane of travel on the Highway, which is being shifted mauka between Front Street and Kai Hele Ku Street fronting Launiupoko State Park.

The repairs are being conducted to repair erosion damage that has undermined the foundation of the shoulder lane.

Speed limits are reduced on the approach to the work zone.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and to follow all posted traffic control devices through the area.
