She previously worked for the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund, where she dealt with cases that primarily involved endangered species, water rights, public lands, and water pollution.

As a member of the Nominating Committee for the Commission on Water Resource Management, Antolini and three other members are charged with recommending to the governor people to serve on the commission, which has jurisdiction and final authority relating to the implementation and administration of the state water code.

“Denise’s substantial background and expertise in environmental law, particularly in the area of water resource management, make her an ideal candidate to the Commission on Water Resource Management Nominating Committee,” said Speaker Souki who represents the Maui communities of Kahakuloa, Waihee, Waiehu, Puuohala, Wailuku, and Kahului.
