County Grant Helps Businesses Recycle

The County of Maui’s Department of Environmental Management is making grants available to businesses, organizations and individuals who are interested diverting materials from the Central Maui Landfill.
To be eligible for the Environmental Management Recycling Grant for the 2014 fiscal year, projects must focus on landfill diversion, including but not limited to; education and improvements of existing programs, electronics collection, paint collection, composting workshops, reuse center, or web-based materials exchange.
The County of Maui is also recommending that applicants attend a special grant workshop that is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 28, 3 p.m., at the County of Maui Recycling Office at One Main Plaza.
The grant application process consists of two main parts: a grant summary and a full grant application. Grant summaries are due on Wednesday, March 6 at 4 p.m. Grant summaries will be reviewed and applicants will be notified if they are approved to complete a full grant application. Full grant applications are due March 22.
