Attorney Explains Limited Liability Incorporations at Business Center
By Sonia Isotov
This month the Maui County Business Resource Center (MCBRC) is hosting several workshops geared toward helping small and micro businesses succeed on Maui.
New in the lineup this month is Roya Deyhim, a Maui-based attorney and former president of the Rotary Club of Kihei-Wailea, who will lecture on the intricacies of setting up a business as a limited liability company.
The MCBRC also has an entire lineup of other short business workshops being held during the month of April. Every month, local business experts share a wealth of knowledge and experience at the free workshops. Topics vary by month but usually focus on starting, financing and growing a small business.
The center, a division of the County of Maui Office of Economic Development, also has free business counseling with business executives in the US Small Business Administration’s Service Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE) counselor program. SCORE is a federal program and the Maui Chapter is lead by long-time SCORE counselor and certified public accountant Richard Kehoe.
The following workshops will be held in April and begin at noon unless otherwise noted:
“Sales Skills 101 – Communicating Your Way to a Better Future” by T.J. Anderson – Wednesday, April 10.
This workshop explores the “fine art of selling” through improved communication skills. Anderson has owned several businesses and attributes much of his success to sales skills learned as a national sales leader for a Fortune 500 company.

Boswell, an author and inspirational coach, teaches five steps students can use to begin a full-time endeavor or supplement current income. Her method is based on uncovering your values, gifts and abilities.
