A high surf advisory has been extended for the north-facing shores of Maui and Molokai until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service say a large north swell, combined with locally generated wind waves, will continue to produce rough surf throughout the day.

Officials say surf is expected to be in the 10- to 15-foot range along affected shorelines.

The elevated surf is forecast to produce rip currents and localized beach erosion, according to authorities.
