The County of Maui is seeking participants for “The Mayor’s Challenge: A Healthy Adventure” scheduled to take place from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, at the Queen Kaʻahumanu Center.
County officials say the event was created to share knowledge and appreciation for healthy living, and offer participants ideas for ways to integrate health and wellness into their daily lifestyles.
“Fitness isn’t just physical health, it’s also mental health,” said Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa in a press release. “The challenge is designed for team members to learn as much as they can about health and wellness so anyone eager to learn can join.”
The event is organized in part by the Nutrition and Physical Activity Coalition and reportedly includes teamwork challenges that test mental and strategic skills including task and puzzle-solving.
County officials say the first team to successfully complete the Grand Finale Challenge will win five round-trip inter-island airfares courtesy of Mokulele Airlines.
The Mayor’s Challenge is limited to the first 50 teams, with registration taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
