The Lahaina satellite office of the Division of Motor Vehicles and Licensing will remain open for business for the next couple of weeks, despite ongoing construction in the area, officials said.

“People have been confused about whether the Lahaina DMVL was going to stay open while construction is taking place at Lahaina Center,” Maui County Communications Director Rod Antone said in a press release.

The satellite office will continue operations at its current Lahaina Center location off Front Street until May 3. After that time, the office will relocate to the Lahaina Gateway Center on Keawe Street, authorities said.

“Although the office will be moving in early May, we would like to assure the public that despite the construction, the office will remain open until May 3rd,” said Antone, noting that DMVL customers may have to detour around certain construction areas to get to the office.

The new office, which opens next month, will be located at 305 Keawe St.
