A free resource workshop will be held for Maui farmers on June 13, 2013.

The cooperative program is being offered by the state Department of Agriculture in conjunction with other government and agricultural programs.

The workshop will focus on pesticide use, food safety and farm services, and will run from 3 to 6 p.m. at the UH Maui College, Community Services Building.

A list of topics to be covered includes the following: agricultural pesticide use, food safety program, spray calibration and coverage demo, food and drug produce testing, USDA loan programs and disaster assistance, NRCS programs, and HDOA marketing and commodity programs.

In addition to learning about the services offered by state and federal governments, farmers can also earn two credits towards their Restricted Use Pesticide re-certification.
