Hāna Library Closes for Re-Roofing and AC Replacement
By Wendy Osher
Hāna Library in East Maui will close temporarily for a scheduled re-roofing and air-conditioner replacement project this summer.
Officials with the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System advise that the closure will begin on Friday, June 21, with an announcement planned at a later date to advise the public on when the library will reopen.
In the interim, the book drop will remain open for the duration. Library book renewal and a variety of other services are available online at librarieshawaii.org.
According to the bid notice that was issued late last year, the estimated construction cost of the project was placed at between $250,000 and $500,000.
