The County of Maui will host a Permitting Open House designed to simplify the permitting process for residents and businesses.

County officials say the “One-Stop Shop” brings together representatives from various departments that are involved in the signing off process for building permits.

This includes officials with: the Maui Department of Fire and Public Safety, Water Department, Public Works, and Planning and Environmental Management.

The event is free and open to the public, and will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, at the Mayor’s Conference Room, located on the 9th floor of the Kalana O Maui Building.

Maui County Managing Director Keith Regan, who made the announcement commented in a press release saying, “We have received excellent feedback from people who attended the last permitting open house, saying they were able to get many of their questions answered and even getting some long-term issues resolved because having all the departments on-hand made it so much easier.”

“I see this as a vital way the County can provide better customer service, while helping facilitate residential and commercial building projects,” said Regan.
