User friendly tech products like the iPad, iPod, and iTouch, have gained household familiarity, but there’s a new non-Apple “i” product that is aimed at a whole different lifestyle market on Maui.

The “i-Lipo” program launches on Maui today at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea Spa.

According to a resort announcement, the non-invasive laser technology is the “first FDA-approved treatment clinically proven to reduce cellulite, tighten skin, and contour the body.”

Resort officials say Dr. Mark Emerson, DC, CSSP, a specialist in clinical nutrition and natural treatment methods, was consulted for the program.

In a press release issued by the hotel, Dr. Emerson said, “I-Lipo uses low level laser technology to stimulate the body’s natural process for releasing stored fat from fat cells, thereby shrinking the cells and reshaping the body.”

Senior Spa Director Pat Makozak also commented in a statement saying, “This is an intelligent way to reduce cellulite and get a slimmer, tighter shape, with no down time.”

The resort announcement says eight sessions are recommended to see the “most improvement,” with each session followed by 30 to 40 minutes of cardio exercise.

The program, which is part of the spa’s wellness offerings, costs $450 per single treatment, with a kamaʻaina discount of 10% off for Hawaiʻi residents with a valid Hawaiʻi state ID.
