County officials today announced the temporary closure of the drop-off and parking lot area at Ulua Beach in Wailea, due to force main replacement and repairs.

“The area was scheduled to reopen at the end of June; however delays in the delivery of a valve pushed back the beach access closure,” county officials with the Department of Environmental Management said in a press release.

The area is now scheduled to reopen on July 22. County officials say affected vendors with commercial and ocean recreation activity permits have been notified of the delay.

Although the parking and drop off area is closed, the beach and shoreline area remain open for public use.
