Maui Dining App Top Ranked in App Store Search
By Maui Now Staff
The locally-launched Maui Dining app now tops the list of free food-related apps on Maui in a search of the popular Apple App Store.
The app allows users to find special offers, book reservations, and view Instagram photos in the palm of their hand. It also puts food finding at your fingertips, with founders likening the app to, “a hand-held magazine,” that features up-to-the-minute offers, GPS-mapping, reviews, social media, videos and more.
The Maui Dining app was introduced in October 2012, under a joint venture between Pacific Media Group’s Chuck Bergson of Maui, and vThirtyfive Development Studios’ Jack Dugan, out of San Luis Obispo, CA. Dugan also has ties to the Valley Isle as a former Maui resident and Seabury Hall student.
“Restaurants are hand-selected and may participate by invitation only, to keep the quality where it needs to be for our discerned user-base,” said Bergson of the partnership, which brings cutting-edge technology to the restaurants, visitors and residents of Maui.
“Unlike the large, out-of-touch software companies,” Dugan said, “the Maui Dining app relies on local editors and qualified critics to suggest where to eat and noteworthy popular dishes.”
He continued saying, “Sometimes it is no fun to scan through hundreds of user reviews when you would rather have a trusted critic guide you to the best dishes, views and overall experience.”
The app is free for download on iOS devices at the App Store. For more information, visit: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/maui-dining/id454830509?mt=8.
