MECO Aerial Inspections Scheduled July 23 to 25

Maui Electric Company will utilize helicopters to perform routine power line inspections on Maui, Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi from July 23 to 25, officials announced.

Weather permitting, the inspections are scheduled between 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the following areas:

  • Tuesday, July 23: Kahului to Hāna, and Kula to Haleakalā;
  • Wednesday, July 24: Māʻalaea to Wailea, and Māʻalaea to Nāpili; and
  • Thursday, July 25: Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi.

Company officials say routine aerial inspections of equipment, including electrical lines, poles and substations, are necessary to “ensure stable and reliable electrical service for Maui County’s electric customers.”
