The County of Maui, Office of the Mayor released several news and event related videos highlighting activities and events around the county this month.

The short vignettes provide an on site look at an emergency water main repair project; the 48th Annual Makawao Paniolo Parade; the DARE Leadership Program; and the Summer P.A.L.S. 2013 Ho’olaule’a.

[flashvideo file=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JY98hFZHZ_M /] Emergency Water Main Break repairs in Kīhei:  The Maui Department of Water Supply conducted emergency repairs over several hours on July 16, to fix a leaking 12-inch main line on South Kīhei Road. Repairs began at 8:30 a.m. and concluded by 1 p.m. the same day.

[flashvideo file=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xefN_zyA8Og /] The 48th Annual Makawao Parade and Rodeo: This annual event was held on Saturday, July 6, 2013, in Makawao town.  The event, themed “Hanohano Nā Paniolo – Distinguished are the Cowboys,” featured floats, paniolo royalty, and classic cars.

[flashvideo file=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCckmOE_oc0 /] D.A.R.E. Leadership Program:  The Maui Police Department’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program is among a list of community relations programs and services offered to educate youth in drug prevention.

Ho’olaule’a 2013: This program features kids performing at the War Memorial gymnasium for the event.  The County program aims to provide a recreation program that addresses the physical, social, cultural, and educational needs of Maui keiki during summer and intersession breaks.
