Frank DeLima To Perform at Benefit

“As a kid I loved imitating, but I didn’t know I was going to be a comedian. I wasn’t planning on it. I was planning to be a priest.”

Despite being a natural jokester and ultimately emceeing all the pep rallies in high school, comedian Frank DeLima went on to enter the St. Patrick Archdiocesan Seminary School and eventually earned his Masters of Divinity. He was even ordained as a deacon at one point, but has been relieved of his duties because he decided not to go into the priesthood.

The Pauoa Valley funny man shows some of his initial charitable inclinations by coming to Maui for a special cause.

Tomorrow night you can join De Lima for an evening of food, music, a silent auction, and – of course – comedy.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Begario family, who lost their home in a fire last month.

One of DeLima’s better-known characters is Tutu, a older female who wears a muumuu and has rollers in her gray hair.

The event will also feature a Tutu Look-alike contest.

The benefit is from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Binhi at Ani Maui Filipino Community Center.

Tickets are $55 each.
