Maui police responded to a vehicle down a 40-foot cliff in Māʻalaea this morning at around 8 a.m., police tell Maui Now.

Maui Police Lt. William Juan says the vehicle was reported stolen and there was no one within when officers responded to the scene.

The owner was reportedly notified of the incident and tow companies were responding to the scene to assess the area for removal.

The vehicle landed upside down near Mile 7 of the Honoapiʻilani Highway, about a half-mile west of the homes, beyond Māʻalaea Small Boat Harbor.

put those punks to jail there must be evidence of fingerprints on the stearing wheel or doors

Ron this is Maui, there could be a confession taped to the steering wheel and there would be no charges filed.

  • haikujim

Actually, there could be a confession, and an address and phone number, and it would take Maui’s finest two or three years to act on it.

So you’re saying the Maui police are more effective than the Big Island cops? Nice!
