Application Period Begins for Summer Explorations Program

The application window for Kamehameha Schools’ summer programs opens today, Jan. 2.
There are three Explorations Series programs to choose from that are open to students currently in grades 5-8, and who do not attend Kamehameha Schools.
The Explorations programs–Hoʻoākaʻikaʻi, Hoʻolauna and Kūlia I Ka Pono–are targeted for specific grade levels and include activities designed to introduce and expand upon Hawaiian cultural traditions and knowledge.
The Explorations programs are a week-long and take place over six consecutive weeks from June 8 to July 19.
The school also offers summer school programs at the Kapālama or Hawaiʻi campus for students in grades K-12, for both current and non-Kamehameha School students.
The Kula Kauwela or Summer School programs have a limited number of seats available that offer a program options aimed at keeping students engaged in learning throughout the year.
The Hawai‘i Island program runs from June 12 to July 10, and the Kapālama program runs from June 9 to July 18.
The deadline to apply for all programs ends on Feb. 15, 2014. Applications are available online at: www.ksbe.edu/admissions.
