The County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development hosts several workshops in January as part of its monthly schedule.

Workshops are presented at the Maui County Business Resource Center, located at the Maui Mall in Kahului, and are free unless otherwise noted.

The following workshops are available during the month of January:

    • Building a Facebook Business Page From the Ground Up: with instructor Nicole Fisher. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 12 to 1:30 p.m. Learn 10 tips to run a successful Facebook business page. Also learn how to use Facebook features and how to cross promote your page. Fisher is an entrepreneur who presently works as a Marketing Strategist, Social Media Consultant and Trainer.
    • Local Social Media Blueprint: with instructors Joseph Cicchino and Tom Gaddis. Monday, Jan. 27, 12 to 1 p.m. Learn how to implement a social media blueprint to increase online presence and drive sales.
    • How to Use Twitter to Build Profitable Relationships for Your Business: with instructor Danielle Miller. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 12 to 1 p.m., followed by Q&A from 1 to 1:30 p.m. An introduction to Twitter as a social media platform. Learn best practices for using Twitter for business marketing. Miller is a Social Media Coach and Founder of Miller Media Management.

QuickBooks for Small Business:

    with instructor Richard Kehoe, CPA. Thursday, Jan. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m.  Cost is $45.  Learn to set up your company’s QuickBooks in a small class setting with personalized tutoring.  Participants will learn how to record sales, receive payments, prepare invoices, and balance your checkbook. Instructor Richard Kehoe, CPA is a lead Service Corps of Retired Executives counselor. Follow-up appointments are offered at no cost.

Seating for all workshops is limited, and can be reserved by calling the Resource Center at 873-8247.
