Maui Woman Missing Since Sunday, Police Seek Help

The Maui Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a Maui woman who has been missing since Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014.

According to police reports, Moreira Monsalve, 46, was last seen at around 3 p.m. on Sunday, when she attended a meeting with her son at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College campus in Kahului.

Police say Monsalve left the campus alone within a vehicle, however, failed to return to pick up her son.

Through investigation, the woman’s vehicle was later recovered by detectives on Tuesday, Jan. 14; however, her whereabouts are unknown at this time.

Maui police say detectives conducted checks of the areas that Monsalve is known to frequent as part of the investigation.
