The Maui Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a Maui woman who has been missing since Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014.

According to police reports, Moreira Monsalve, 46, was last seen at around 3 p.m. on Sunday, when she attended a meeting with her son at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College campus in Kahului.

Police say Monsalve left the campus alone within a vehicle, however, failed to return to pick up her son.

Through investigation, the woman’s vehicle was later recovered by detectives on Tuesday, Jan. 14; however, her whereabouts are unknown at this time.

Maui police say detectives conducted checks of the areas that Monsalve is known to frequent as part of the investigation.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Monsalve is asked to call Maui Police Dispatch at (808) 244-6400.

There was meeting on a Sunday at 3pm at UH Maui campus…hmmm…with the son and she left in a vehicle which was later recovered…where? Didn’t the daughter say she dropped her off at the airport at around the same day and time as the meeting at the deserted Maui Campus on Sunday. What is the description of the vehicle maybe people have seen it?
