Wailuku Prices Steady in Weekend Gas Watch

The average price of gas in Wailuku was listed at $4.24 for a gallon of regular, unchanged from last week, three cents more than last month, and three cents more than last year, according to the AAA Hawaiʻi Weekend Gas Watch.

AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida said, “Average fuel prices varied by just one to two pennies per gallon from last week.”

On Oʻahu, gas was $3.93 for a gallon of regular unleaded, up two cents from last week, eight cents more than last month, and down 18 cents from last year. Gas in Hilo was listed at $3.94 per gallon, up three cents from last week, up one cent from last month, and down 24 cents from the same time last year.

The $4.03 state average is up two cents from last week, and down 15 cents from last year. That’s still more than prices listed in other locations where gas was going for: $3.63 a gallon for unleaded in Alaska, $3.59 in California, $3.02 in Montana, and $3.10 in Oklahoma, according to the AAA.

The report recorded a record high of $4.98 for regular unleaded in Wailuku on May 9, 2011.
