The Mayor’s Office of Economic Development released a list of workshops scheduled in February that are open to the general public.  The workshops are offered at the Maui County Business Resource Center and are free unless otherwise noted.

Workshops are subject to change or cancellation. Seating is limited, and reservations can be made by calling (808) 873-8247.

Business on the Grill with Maui Business Brainstormers: Tuesday, March 11, 2014, 12 to 1:30 p.m. Meet other business owners and managers, share and learn with thought-provoking questions, answers and coaching. More info and RSVP are available at the following LINK.

How to Set and Achieve Any Goal You Have in Your Life: Wednesday, March 12, 2014, 12 to 1 p.m. with instructor Ed Gazmen, Certified Life Counselor.  The workshop will focus on a detailed step by step plan on how to become a “goal achiever”. Gazmen has coached individuals as they explore and define their career and life aspirations, helped them overcome barriers, and find ways to successfully develop and achieve the goals that they have set.

Harnessing the Power of a Business Mastermind Group: Thursday, March 13, 2014, 12 to 1 p.m. with instructor Danielle Miller.  Learn the core values of a mastermind group and how to create or join a group in your area. Miller is a social media specialist, small business enthusiast, and founder of a marketing consulting and coaching company on Maui.

Developing a Do-Able Social Media Plan: Friday, March 21, 2014, 12 to 1:15 p.m. with instructor Nico Fisher.  Discover 10 simple social media marketing tips and tactics to help your business grow.  Learn how to be consistent across all social media sites and how to build partnerships with other like-minded business professionals.

QuickBooks for Small Business: Thursday, March 27, 2014, 5 to 8 p.m. with instructor Richard Kehoe, CPA.  Cost is $45.00.  Learn to set up your company’s QuickBooks in a small class setting with personalized tutoring. This class is for new users and will teach you how to record sales, receive payments, prepare invoices, and balance your checkbook.  Follow-up appointments are offered at no cost.
