It’s also down 66 cents from the record price of $4.98 for Wailuku recorded by AAA on May 9, 2011.

“With average fuel prices continuing to go up, it’s important to remember to check the car’s tire pressure, use a moderate driving style and shop around for the best price per gallon,” said AAA Hawaiʻi General Manager Liane Sumida in a press release. “Following these practices will ensure the best fuel efficiency possible,” she said.

Statewide, the average was $4.18, up four cents from a week ago, and up 15 cents from last month, according to the report.
