Easter Buffet Brunch Options Abound

This Sunday, April 20, enjoy 24-consecutive hours of Easter.

So, if the word “Easter” makes you want to put on some (fancy, or at least clean) stretchy pants and eat eggs benedict until they make you stop, then by all means keep reading.

To begin, the Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas Ocean Pool Bar & Grill is offering buffet tables laden with traditional specials that include an Omelet Station and Carving Table with peppercorn and garlic crusted prime rib. Also anticipate fresh Danish pastries, muffins, croissants, smoked bacon and chicken sausage, “Hawaiian sweet bread toast a-la French”, classic eggs benedict, Maui Gold pineapple and Kula strawberries.

If breakfast food isn’t so much your jam, try the island catch, Hawaiian salt country ham, green pea risotto, macaroni and cheese, smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail, ahi poke, imported and domestic cheeses and salad galore.

Dessert and beverage offerings include guava chiffon cake, carrot cake, assorted macaroons, cookies, a glass of sparkling wine and other bevvies. Enjoy the feast for $54 per adult and $27 per child ages 4 to 12.

Held at the Molokini Bar & Grill Restaurant, the Makena Beach & Golf Resort’s Easter Sunday Brunch will feature Makena’s signature egg benedict, thick-cut smoked bacon, Portuguese sausage and apple-stuffed chicken sausage, buttermilk pancakes or crispy waffles with garden strawberries, sweet blueberry compote, hand-whipped cream, macadamia nuts toppings and warmed maple, coconut and strawberry syrups.

Once again, carnivores may want to skip straight to roasted vintage NY strip loin with wild spring mushroom ragu, parmesan cheese, braised wheat berries, roasted shallots and port wine demi-glace; a ti-leaf wrapped mahi-mahi steamed with red Thai curry vegetables in a coconut milk and ginger lemongrass butter; and “Chef’s Special Pasta” rice paper butternut squash ravioli with butter poached lobster, roasted tomato, pecans and sage butter.

Also on offer are cinnamon-seared duck, crispy coconut shrimp and carving stations of boneless leg of lamb marinated in herbs and garlic and an oven roasted prime rib of beef.

Maybe start fasting now to make room for fresh sashimi, assorted pokes, peel-n-eat shrimp, in-house smoked salmon, snap-n-eat Dungeness crab legs, or their assortment of fresh made-to-order sushi.

All this – and more, if you can believe it – is offered at $65 per adult, $45 per child (ages 9-12) and $30 per child (ages 5-8) and is available from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua hosts their annual Easter Sunday Brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Terrace Restaurant.

The menu includes locally sourced items – even some from the organic garden on the property – with a focus on Hawaiian-themed dishes as well as traditional brunch items.

In addition to a fresh seafood station, the resort notes there will be a carving station with prime rib, glazed ham, leg of lamb, macadamia nut crusted sea bass, a live omelet station and a virgin Bloody Mary bar.

Desserts include Chef Rafeeque Hameed’s chocolate eggs and Easter themed showpiece, chocolate mousse, strawberry cheesecake, vanilla crème brulee, and caramel cream puffs.

All this is $96 per adult and $48 per child.

If eating on land is just too proletariat for you and yours, consider the Pacific Whale Foundation’s Easter Brunch Cruise.

Departing from Lahaina Harbor, expect to be feasting at sea with whales frolicking by your side from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The chef-prepared brunch buffet features locally grown chef-prepared foods such as grilled chicken breast with mushroom cream sauce; honey-basted ham with Maui Gold pineapple glaze; traditional stuffing with Kula onions, celery and carrots; slow-baked russet potatoes; upcountry mixed greens with cucumbers and tomatoes, homemade taro croutons, and Maui onion dressing; macadamia nut pesto char-grilled vegetables and passion fruit cheesecake for dessert.

Adult guests also receive up to three alcoholic beverages including beer from Maui Brewing Co., red and white wine, Mai Tais and blended drinks.

Tickets are $79.95 ($71.95 if you book online) for adults and $49.95 for kids 12 and under

Lastly, the newly-renovated Swan Court in the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa is offering up one more a lavish breakfast buffet to choose from.

Available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., guests can partake in herb-crusted prime rib, eggs benedict, shrimp cocktail and a selection of island fruits, salads and fresh-baked pastries.

Brown sugar Bloody Marys and fresh-squeezed mimosas will also be available at $10 for one and $15 for two.

The brunch is offered at $49.95 per adult, and $24.95 per child and reservations can be made by calling 808-667-4727.
