Singer, songwriter and surfer, Jack Johnson, returns to Hawaiʻi for a hometown performance at the Waikīkī Shell on August 1, as part of his 2014 North American From Here To Now To You Tour.

The show marks his return to Hawaiʻi for the first time in more than two years, and his first performance at the Waikīkī Shell in more than four years since hosting the Kōkua Festival in 2010, according to Johnson’s website.

The North Shore Oʻahu native performed on Maui in April 2012 at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center as part of his Acoustic Tour that included appearances by fellow Hawaiʻi performers John Cruz and Paula Fuga.

While there is no Maui show on the schedule to date, Hawaiʻi fans from across the state will have first dibs on claiming concert tickets.

According to information published on Jack Johnson’s website, tickets will be made available online at the main Blaisdell box office, and at all Ticketmaster outlets for Hawaiʻi residents only at 10 a.m. HST on Saturday, May 10. The site states that credit cards will need to have a Hawaiʻi billing zip code in order to qualify for purchase at that time.

Ticket sales to the general public begin on at 10 a.m. the following day on Sunday, May 11, 2014, and will be restricted to a four ticket per person limit.

All proceeds from the Honolulu show will benefit the non-profit Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation, whose mission it is to support environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawaiʻi.

According to information posted on the Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation website, there is a limited number of pre-sale tickets for the show that will be made available to Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation members who are part of the $25 individual membership level or higher.

The site notes that current members as of 11:59 p.m. HST on Monday, May 5 will have access to the Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation members pre-sale starting on Thursday, May 8; however, since tickets are limited, the foundation does not automatically guarantee access to tickets.

Jack Johnson’s folk and acoustic style have gained a strong base with popular song selections that include “Upside Down,” “Sitting, Waiting, Wishing,” and “Breakdown.”
