Next Wednesday, May 14, Dazoo Restaurant and Maui Brewing Company present a beer-pairing dinner.

A precursor to next weekend’s Maui Brewer’s Festival at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, the five-course feast combines selected beers from Maui Brewing Company with dishes designed specifically for the event.

Held at Dazoo Restaurant in Paia, the meal starts with an amuse of assorted pickles & borscht.

This is followed by a Thai Caesar Salad of romaine hearts dressed in Thai-flavored Caesar dressing (cilantro, cumin, fish sauce, lime juice); shredded pickled carrots and grilled jalapenos; and shrimp croutons (sourdough bread fried in shrimp shell butter) paired with Bikini Blond Lager.

Next is Chojang Wings – crispy chicken wings in Dazoo’s signature spicy chojang sauce – with Big Swell IPA.

Things get exotic with a Crispy Braised Pork Jowl with jicama and daikon sprouts and ginger orange reduction and the Lorenzini Blood Orange IPA.

The Red Cock Dopplebock accompanies Chicken & Black Garlic sausage with buckwheat pilaf and chicken demi glace.

A vegetarian menu will also be available.

Garrett Marrero, Maui Brewing Company’s owner and founder will be on hand to discuss the beer selections, brewery’s history and future expansion project in Kihei.

“We are extremely excited to be part of recognizing the connection between real craft beer and farm to table dining,” stated Marrero. “The two have very much in common and we’re elated to be partnering with Dazoo to showcase our passion for hand crafted beers paired with their passion for great, locally sourced meals.”

The dinner is $60 per person and starts at 6 p.m.
