Schatz to Speak at Facebook Small Business Maui Workshop

The Maui Economic Development Board and High Tech Maui are hosting a Facebook Small Business Boost workshop.

The free event will include networking opportunities, an address by special guest speaker US Senator Brian Schatz, and a presentation from experts at Facebook’s Small Business Team.

Earlier this year, Senator Schatz joined Google in hosting and organizing a similar workshop aimed at familiarizing small businesses with online tools and the benefits of having an online presence.

Senator Schatz is a member of the Commerce Committee in the US Senate, and the chair of the Subcommittee on Tourism, Competitiveness, and Innovation.

Participants at the upcoming Facebook workshop will learn about best practices, hear success stories, and identify strategies on how to grow and manage your small business identity on Facebook.

The event will take place on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at the King Kamehameha Golf Club, Waikapū Ballroom, and includes check-in and networking at 4 p.m., and a presentation from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
