The Maui Department of Water Supply has updated its Water Meter Priority List for Upcountry Maui.

The list, dated June 30, 2014, is 35 pages long and includes 1,852 requests dating back to Jan. 4, 1999.

The department stopped accepting new applications on Dec. 31, 2012, as personnel worked to address the backlog of requests.

The list has since been reduced by 35 from the 1,887 requests documented when the list was last updated a year ago on June 30, 2013.

The requests include building permit applications, subdivisions, and water service requests.

The list is posted online in PDF format in order by date received and by tax map key number.

The Maui Department of Water Supply began the long-awaited process of issuing water meters in the Upcountry area in April 2014.

At the time, department officials said the additional water meters were being issued as a capital improvement project at the Hamakuapoko Wells nears completion as a back-up source of water for the area.
