Maui police responded to 15 burglaries, 11 vehicle thefts, and 29 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between August 3 to 9, 2014.

The list includes only four vehicle thefts, two of which have since been recovered.   There was a spike in vehicle break-ins with five incidents reported just before 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, at East Uahi Way off of Waikō Road in Waikapū near American Electric Co.

The greatest number of vehicle break-ins occurred in Kihei, where 14 incidents were reported in just seven days.
