Maui Crime Log: 23 Burglaries, 24 Vehicle Break-ins

Maui police responded to 23 burglaries, 8 vehicle thefts, and 24 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between August 24 to 30, 2014.

Of the 8 vehicle thefts, one vehicle has since been recovered.

Burglary incidents remained high with 23 incidents compared to 24 reported the week before. The greatest number of burglaries were reported in Wailuku and Lahaina where four incidents occurred in each location.

Vehicle break-ins were up to 17 for the week, an increase from the 11 incidents reported the week before. The greatest number of incidents were reported in Haʻikū, Kāʻanapali, and Kahului where three incidents were reported at each location.

• Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, 3 p.m.:  Kuiaha Road, residential, unlawful entry.
• Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, 8:46 p.m.:  2500 Kokomo Road, residential, unlawful entry.

Kāʻanapali:

• Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, 1:13 p.m.:  North Piki Place, residential, unlawful entry.
