Maui police responded to 15 burglaries, 19 vehicle thefts, and 22 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between Aug. 31 to Sept. 6, 2014.

Of the 19 vehicle thefts, 6 vehicles have since been recovered.  The greatest number of incidents was in Kīhei where six incidents were reported.

Burglary incidents dropped to 15 compared to 23 reported the week before. The greatest number of burglaries were reported in Kīhei where five incidents occurred.

Vehicle break-ins remained high at 22 for the week, down two from the 24 incidents reported the week before. The greatest number was in Kahului where five incidents occurred, and in Kīhei where six incidents were reported.

Kahului:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, 9:04 a.m.:  Molokaʻi Hema Street, residential, forced entry.

Kapalua:

  • Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, 3:34 p.m.:  Ridge Road at Ridge Villas, residential, unlawful entry.

Kīhei:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, 7:13 p.m.:  South Kīhei Road at the Maui Sunset, non-residential, forced entry.
  • Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, 5:15 a.m.:  Alania Place, residential, forced entry.
  • Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, 12:37 p.m.:  South Kīhei Road – 200 block, residential, unlawful entry.
  • Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, 9:26 p.m.:  South Kīhei Road at Kamaole Sands, residential, forced entry.
