Makena Beach and Golf Resort’s monthly Food and Wine Education series continues this Saturday, Sept. 20 with an ‘Italian Experience.’

Featuring Wine Educator and Advanced Sommelier Charles Fredy and his expertise, guests will sip on three classic wines from the wine-making regions of  Sardegna (aka Sardinia), Piedmont, and Veneto Italy.

In addition, Makena’s Chef De Cuisine Kurt Lesmerises is preparing three special dishes to accompany the wines.Wines and food pairings for the event include:

  • 2013 Cherchi, Pigalva, Vermentino De Sardegna, Italy paired with Grilled Fresh Herb Marinated Garlic Butter Shrimp
  • 2013 Andrea Oberto, Barbera d’Alba, Piedmont, Italy paired with Tagliatelle and Kalua Pork Bolognese
  • 2010 Roccolo Grassi, Valpolicella Superiore Veneto, Italy paired with Baby beef osso buco and wild mushroom risotto

The tasting starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Molokini Bar & Grill and is offered at $45 per person, not including tax or gratuity.
