Record High Temp Tied at Kahului
By Wendy Osher
The National Weather Service recorded a record high temperature in Kahului of 92 degrees on Tuesday, Oct. 7, tying the old record set for the same day in 1997.
The news comes on the heels of several record temperature reports last month including a three day stretch between Saturday, Sept. 20, and Monday, Sept. 22, in which record temperatures were either tied or broken.
NWS forecasters are projecting mostly sunny skies today with highs near 91 degrees, and heat index values as high as 99.
The agency is forecasting breezy tradewind weather over the next few days.
