The state House Committee on Health will host an informational briefing on Maui on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, to discuss budget issues.

A public notice states that the meeting is part of a series of briefings and community based hearings related to the Hawaiʻi Health Systems Corporation and their plans to streamline operations to address anticipated budget shortfalls.

Among those in attendance will be Maui Regional CEO Wesley Lo with the Hawaii Health Systems Corp. and Maui Region Board chair Clay Sutherland.

Both were invited to the informational briefing portion of the hearing.

The hearing begins at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at the Maui Waena Intermediate School Cafeteria in Kahului.

The House Committee on Health is led by chair Rep. Della Au Belatti, and vice chair Rep. Dee Morikawa.  Other members of the committee include: Rep. Mele Carroll of Maui, Rep. Justin Woodson of Maui, Rep. Richard Creagan, Rep. Mark Hashem, Rep. Jo Jordan, Rep. Bertrand Kobayashi, Rep. Marcus Oshiro, and Rep. Lauren Matsumoto.
