Mechanical problems resulted in a missed trash route affecting residents in the Kula and Haʻikū service areas today (Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014).

The County of Maui Solid Waste Division announced the missed route saying they expected to pickup trash for affected customers on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014.

Areas affected in Kula include:  Upper and Lower Kimo Drive; Kualalani Drive and Circle; Ōmaʻopio, Piliwale, Pūlehu, Holopuni, and Lower Kula Roads; Kula Kai Drive; and all adjacent streets.

Areas affected in Haʻikū include:  Kokomo and Paʻuwela Road; Kahope and Puʻu Koa Place; and all adjacent streets.

Department officials apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation.
