4.2 Hawaiʻi Earthquake off of Kailua-Kona

There were no immediate advisories issued following a 4.2 (preliminary magnitude 4.1) earthquake reported at 8:42 p.m. about 35 miles WNW of Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi.
The USGS reports the quake occurred at a depth of 3.2 miles and was located: 35 miles WNW of Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi; 70 miles S of Kīhei, Maui; 78 miles S of Kahului, Maui; 78 miles S of Wailuku, Maui; and 137 miles SE of Honolulu, Oʻahu.
The quake was felt across various locations on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi including Kealakekua; and was also felt in parts of Maui including Lahaina, Makawao, Kula, Kīhei, Haʻikū and Wailuku according to the USGS.
There were also reports of shaking felt as far away as Honolulu and Kaneohe on Oʻahu, according to the USGS’s Did You Feel It website.
