MPD Issues Statement on Anniversary of Monsalve Disappearance

The Maui Police Department has issued information regarding Moreira “Mo” Monsalve of Wailuku on Jan. 12, 2015, the one-year anniversary of her disappearance.

The Maui Police Department has offered the following information regarding this in-depth, ongoing investigation.

Thus far, no arrests have been made in connection with this case. However, MPD detectives consider Bernard Brown to be a person of interest in this investigation. His whereabouts and location are known to police.

The MPD, with the assistance of Hawaii State Civil Defense Search and Rescue K-9 Unit, Honolulu Police Department, State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources Maui Branch, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Maui and Honolulu Offices, have analyzed data and continue to search and follow up on information and leads throughout the County of Maui.

The public is asked to contact Detective Oran Satterfield from the Criminal Investigation Division, The Crimes Against Persons Unit, at 244-6431 with any information. Callers can remain anonymous and any information given will remain strictly confidential.
