Submissions to the 3rd Annual Chair-ish Maui Recycled Art Contest will be accepted beginning Feb. 1.

Contestant are asked to decorate a rusty old folding chair to vie for  prizes in this annual contest sponsored by Makawao Union Church.

Pay an entry fee of $15 and pick up your raw materials–a rusty old metal folding chair–at Makawao Union Church any Sunday between 11:30 a.m. and noon from Feb. 1 to March 22.

Participants are encouraged to decorate the chair in any style, using any materials (except electricity). The chair must be able to fold and unfold when completed.

Decorated chairs must be returned to the church on March 28 for judging.

Winners will be announced at Aloha Hour on Sunday, April 5. Artists do not have to be present to win. Chairs will be on display in the church narthex until April 19.

All money raised helps support the restoration and maintenance of the 100-year-old Community Hall on the church property.
