Hawaiian Airlines Leads Nation in On-Time Arrivals for 11th Consecutive Year

Hawaiian Airlines is leading the nation in on-time flights for the 11th consecutive year, according to a report released by the US Department of Transportation. The local airline’s punctuality streak began in 2004.
The largest local airline in the islands averaged 91.9 percent of its flights on-time for 2014, earning the best performance ranking in 11 of 12 months in the year. The ranking exceeds the industry average by 15.7 percentage points. Hawaiian also ranked second for the fewest flight cancellations among all carriers for the month of December, with 21 cancellations out of 6,426 flights.
“Our employees know the importance to our guests of arriving at their destination on time, so they work incredibly hard to have our flights arrive on schedule better than 90 percent of the time,” said Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian Airlines president and chief executive officer. “That we have been better at this than our competitors for 11 years in a row is a testament to the passion and commitment to the customer of Hawaiian Airlines’ more than 5,000 employees.”
During the last quarter of 2014, Hawaiian also led the nation in having the least number of passengers denied boarding.
The local airline provides daily nonstop flights to Hawaiʻi from 11 gateway cities in North America, as well as 160 daily interisland flights.
