Hawaiʻi State FCU Ties Board Election to Make-A-Wish Donations

Hawaiʻi State Federal Credit Union will contribute up to $10,000 to Make-A-Wish Hawaiʻi by donating $5 for each online vote received during its 2015 board of directors election. Donations to Make-A-Wish Hawaiʻi will only be made for online votes.

This is the first year Hawaiʻi State FCU has partnered with a nonprofit organization, initiating a unique take on corporate giving.

“At Hawaiʻi State FCU, our members can take an active role in guiding the future of this institution by voting for its board of directors,” said Andrew Rosen, president and CEO of Hawaiʻi State FCU. “Voting online not only makes the election process quick and convenient, but it’s also better for the environment and helps the credit union save money on printing and mailing costs.”

Three of the following five candidates will be elected to fill the seats: Dr. David Weiss, Ph.D.; Ryan Morita; Russell Yamashita; David “Nalu” Akaka; and Rochelle Lee Gregson.

Hawaiʻi State FCU board election voting will open on March 2 and run until April 10, 2015. All eligible members can vote through a secure website or by paper ballot.

Voting online by secure website will be available from 12 a.m. on March 2, 2015 through 11:59 p.m., April 10, 2015. Paper ballots will be mailed by March 2 and must reach election tellers in Dublin, Ohio by April 10. Voters must be 16 years or older and a member of Hawaii State FCU as of December 31, 2014.
