Powerhouse Gym and Basketball Maui joined forces in supporting a spinning event over the weekend to raise money and awareness for the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement.

The event, hosted by Spinning Nation, an indoor cycling company, was held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapū.
The event was part of a nationwide campaign in which participating health clubs across the country hosted spinning classes to raise funds.

Riders were asked to make a minimum $100 donation to participate, with proceeds benefiting Go Red For Women, a campaign to fight heart disease in women.
