Richard Thompson Returns to The MACC

Tickets are on sale now for Richard Thompson’s performance in the McCoy Studio Theater at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Thompson returns to perform on Maui on Friday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m. as part of The MACC’s Solo Sessions Series. His last performance there was six years ago.
The acclaimed songwriter-musician has been named by Rolling Stone magazine as No. 7 in the “Top 20 Guitarists of All Time.” Thompson was a founding member of the influential folk-rock band Fairport Convention. His songs have been recorded by Bonnie Raitt, R.E.M., Los Lobos, Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris and Robert Plant, and others. He has just completed the recording of his latest release, produced by Jeff Tweedy of WILCO fame.
Thompson has been presented with the prestigious Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth and Americana Music Honors & Awards nominated him for “Artist of the Year.”
The Los Angeles Times called Thompson “The finest rock songwriter after Dylan, and the best electric guitarist since Hendrix.”
Tickets are $30, $45 and $65, plus applicable fees, with a discount available for MACC members.
