Waiehu Beach Road Lane Closure, March 27-30
By Wendy Osher
The state Department of Transportation will implement a single lane closure on Waiehu Beach Road from Friday night March 27, to Monday morning March 30, as part of a bridge widening project at the ʻĪao Stream Bridge.
The westbound lane closure on Waiehu Beach Road (Route 3400) will go into effect at 8 p.m. on Friday, and will be lifted at 5 a.m. on Monday.
Officials with the state Department of Transportation say motorists can expect traffic delays between Ukali Street and Kukona Place during the construction period.
In addition to bridge widening, work will also include concrete deck pours.
The DOT advises that portable traffic lights will be used to help with alternating traffic in the eastbound lane.
Alternate routes for westbound motorists are available, including use of North Market Street in Wailuku.
