Wailuku Man Arrested on Meth Trafficking Charges

A Maui man was charged with meth trafficking and a list of other offenses after a drug bust at a Wailuku home on Tuesday, April 7, 2015.

Police say Etuate Fauhiva, 56, was arrested and charged with the following offenses: first degree methamphetamine trafficking; third degree promotion of a detrimental drug; prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia; two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to facilitate the commission of a felony drug offense; place to keep a firearm; place to keep ammunition; two counts of registration firearm mandatory; and two counts of permit to acquire.

Police with the vice, crime reduction unit, and special response team executed three state search warrants at the home.

In executing the warrants, police say they recovered: 290.26 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 8.12 grams of marijuana vegetation, more than $19,000 in US currency, empty plastic packets, digital gram scales and firearms.

Fauhiva was being held in lieu of $32,900 bail at last report.
