Increased Showers Expected This Weekend

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for the Pailolo and ʻAlenuihāhā channels as well as Māʻalaea Bay through 6:00 a.m. Saturday. Northeast winds up to 25 knots and rough seas up to 10 feet are forecasted. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

Today
Partly sunny skies are expected today with scattered showers in windward and mauka areas. Numerous showers are expected for windward parts of the island of Maui. Isolated showers are expected for leeward spots. East winds are expected from 15 to 20 mph. High temperatures from 80° to 85° near shore and lower high temperatures at higher elevations.

Tonight
Mostly cloudy skies with numerous showers in windward and mauka areas tonight. For leeward areas we expect isolated to scattered showers. East winds are expected around 15 mph. Low temperatures from 67° to 72°.
Sunday
Mostly cloudy skies are expected with scattered windward and mauka showers during the day and numerous showers at night. Leeward spots should be partly sunny during the day with isolated to scattered showers. High temperatures from 80° to 85° and low temperatures from 67° to 72° with east winds blowing around 15 mph.
Looking Ahead
Moderate to locally strong trade winds are expected to gradually weaken into next week. Showers should be limited mainly to windward slopes of most islands all day. Clouds and rain in these places are expected to peak Sunday night, before tapering off by the middle of next week.
