Application Deadline Nears for 2015 Lānaʻi Mouflon Sheep Hunt

Application forms are now available for the 2015 mouflon sheep hunting season on Lāna‘i, which runs from July 25 to Oct. 18, 2015.  The deadline to submit applications in person or by mail is 4 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015.  If applying online, the deadline is 4 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2015.

Applications and instruction sheets are available through the Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and Wildlife.  Interested applicants may also refer to the agency website for more information.

The 2015 Lānaʻi mouflon sheep season will consist of four hunts including the following:

• Archery Only Hunt: will be held over eight consecutive days, beginning July 25, 2015 and ending on Aug. 1, 2015;
• Special Youth Hunt: will be conducted for one weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 8 and 9, 2015;
• Muzzleloading Hunt: will be conducted for one weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 15 and 16, 2015; and
• General Rifle Hunt: will be held over nine consecutive weekends on Saturday and Sunday, beginning on Aug. 22, 2015 and ending on Oct. 18, 2015.

The bag limit for the 2015 Lānaʻi mouflon sheep season will be three mouflon sheep (one ewe, one non-typical ram and one of either sex) per hunter per authorized hunt.
