The state Department of Land and Natural Resources has closed ʻĪao Valley State Park for public safety today, due to heavy rain that is resulting in high stream levels at Wailuku’s “ʻĪao Stream.”
Department officials say the park will reopen once stream levels return to a safer “normal” condition.
The closure was announced shortly before 1 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2015.
A flood warning that was in place earlier this morning has since been cancelled as of 7 a.m; and a flood advisory was cancelled at 12:45 p.m.
