Maui Democrats to Host Annual Convention, May 9

Newly appointed District 13 State Representative Lynn DeCoite will deliver the keynote address at the Maui County Democratic Party’s Annual Convention on Saturday, May 9 at the ʻĪao Intermediate School Dining Room in Wailuku.

Party leaders say DeCoite will share highlights of her first legislative session since being appointed in February.

State Senator Roz Baker will serve as convention chairwoman, with registration slated to begin at 1 p.m. and business to commence at 2 p.m. Cost is $10 until Friday, May 8 and $15 at the door.

The convention will include election of executive officers, setting goals for the next year, and planning for the 2016 state and national democratic conventions.

Representative Mele Carroll and longtime Democrat, Mary Cochran will be posthumously honored for their contributions to the Party during the event.
