Maverick Helicopters celebrated its new Maui, Hawaiʻi location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and Lei Day party on Friday, May 1. Company executives were joined by friends, family and local tourism professionals for the private reception. During the ceremony, local Boy Scouts conducted the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a Hawaiian chant and blessing of the building and helicopters.
Among the attendees were Founders and Owners of Maverick Helicopters Greg and Brenda Rochna, Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa, and Maui Economic Development Director Teena Rasmussen.
“We had a fabulous evening surrounded by great friends, clients, our amazing team and many others to celebrate our opening in Hawaii,” said Brenda Rochna in a press release statement. “We are so excited to be flying in and around the beautiful island of Maui.”
Following the ribbon cutting, Maverick Helicopters hosted a Lei Day celebration in honor of the holiday and its first Hawaiʻi location.
Maverick Helicopters expanded its roots beyond Nevada and Arizona by unveiling its latest helicopter operation on Maui in April 2015. This is the company’s fifth permanent location and first venture outside the Southwest United States.
