Maintenance on Makawao Waterline Planned June 9-10

The Department of Water Supply will be doing waterline maintenance work at the Poʻokela Tank site in the Olinda area on from 11 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9 to 5 a.m., Wednesday, June 10.
Water officials say this work may affect water service for residents and businesses in the area bounded by Haleakalā Highway to Kokomo Road and from Makawao Avenue to Hāliʻimaile Road. Other areas that also be affected include: Kaʻiliʻili Road and the area bounded by Kokomo Road, Makawao Avenue/Kaupakalua Road and Puʻuomalei Road. Some of the subdivisions that may be impacted include:Maui Uplands, Pau Hana Estates, and Makawao Estates.
Customers in this area may experience low water pressure or temporary interruption in service during this time.
Department officials say crews will try to minimize the impact. Customers may wish to store water in preparation for this time period.
Traffic will not be impacted at or near the work site, according to the department announcement.
Residents and businesses in Makawao are asked to conserve water and avoid any unnecessary water use during the maintenance project.
